This life, therefore, is not godliness but the process of becoming godly, not health but getting well, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not now what we shall be, but we are on the way. The process is not yet finished, but it is actively going on. This is not the goal but it is the right road. At present, everything does not gleam and sparkle, but everything is being cleansed.
~Martin Luther
The mission of Bethlehem Lutheran Church Health Ministries is to promote wholeness of body, mind, and spirit in and through our faith community as followers of Jesus Christ, the Great Healer, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus sent his disciples out to preach, teach and heal in his name.
God calls his church to do the same by offering a visible and intentional ministry of healing for the whole person.
The scope includes not only physical healing, but mental and spiritual healing as well.
The Health Ministry goals are to provide:
- A Faith Community Nurse
- A caring community
- Visitation for the sick and homebound
- Resources and health counseling
- Forums on health issues
- Blood pressure screening
- Healing through special worship services
- Support Groups
